Hand Quilting
Workshops
You Maverick, You In this one to two day workshop quilters will see traditional quilts that fit my definition of “Maverick,” then embark on a simple, step-by-step process to create an original Maverick quilt of her or his own. This is a complete introduction to my style of creativity and and a way of unlocking the creative process for everyone. No special skills are required. The class is suitable for beginning to advanced quilters.
The Big Stitch
Tired of the fussiness of hand quilting? Looking for a fun way to make your quilts stand out? This class will introduce you to the needles, threads and patterns for big stitch quilting. Bring either plain fabric or a quilt top sandwiched and in a hoop and have a fun day learning the ins and outs of this quick and easy technique. I’ll provide lots of patterns and information.
Elements of Chance
This workshop is based on my way of designing patterns that includes the element of chance. Using my simple technique we will make a small quilt full of life and unpredictably individual. By the end of the class you will be able to design your own blocks and make one of these easy but satisfying beauties. Notice the little green stars where the blocks come together.

Traditional Freeform Quilting
Why should machine quilters have all the fun? This workshop shows everyone how to quilt great designs like cables and feathers freehand, with no markings. With a mini workshop on how to hand quilt, this class will have even beginning quilters making fancy designs by the end of the day. The resulting small piece will be suitable for a crib quilt or for a wall hanging.
